Spaces for Aid Workers: A Vision to the Rescue

As part of the webinar program carried out with the support of different professionals, last Friday, April 14, Humanitarian Consultants and Rescate Urbano Costa Rica held the virtual space named "Evolution of the rescue in Latin America." Also, in this space, with the participation of Lic. Luis Amaya, Director of Civil Protection in El Salvador.

With the presence of more than 100 people, this space made it possible to recognize the critical work carried out by the different rescue systems at the Latin American level, which through the efforts of volunteer and salaried personnel have saved countless lives and brought relief.

Mr. Amaya shared his experience since the rescue carried out by the USAR El Salvador unit in the recent earthquake in Turkey. "With just one life saved, with just one, the plane, the logistics, and all the resources that were invested in bringing the USAR team to Turkey have already been paid for." the Director of Civil Protection El Salvador mentioned.

Consequently, Mr. Héctor Blanco, Director of the Urban Rescue team in Costa Rica congratulated the efforts made by highly qualified rescue teams that responded to the emergency call; "We have to ensure that our actions are aimed at improving the quality of the rescue services, better training and better equipment to save lives." shared with the participants.

The next event in this series of webinars will correspond to Mr. Sergio Flores, Director of our strategic partner, Flood Rescue School.
